Yasmin Guimarães

Yasmin Guimarães presents works that reflect on the making of painting and its possible consequences.

From the oil paint, dots, brush strokes, stains in pastel tones, the artist composes the space delimited by the chassis, in an attempt to translate the interfaces and sensations of an imaginary landscape, sometimes as a suggestion, sometimes in an abstract form. Making use of soft colors, purity, tranquility, without disturbing themes, as a soothing mental. To this aesthetic quality, the artist combines the intelligent use of artifacts such as the apparent raw canvas, as well as various materials such as voile, showing us the truth of the support, which is behind the painting.

The freedom of the artist’s manifestation depositing ink only at the edges and surroundings, leaving the canvas naked as a central theme, or even using voile and tissue paper, which in turn create a kind of paint without ink, exploring the possibilities of expanding the limits of thinking. and to do painting. The transcendence of support, regardless of the intention to create an imaginary or abstract landscape, creates a poetic that translates feelings, sensations, lightness, and perhaps does so as a way to withstand the conflicts inherent in existence, as a way of ordering chaos, an order whose measure is instinct itself.
