Launch of the book "Poema/Processo: uma vanguarda semiológica"

We are please to invite you to the launch of the book Poema/Processo: uma vanguarda semiológica, project and realization of the Galeria Superfície in partnership with the publisher WMF Martins Fontes, and with graphic design by Estúdio Margem. The book, containing 320 pages, presents a historical panorama of visual poetry in Brazil, documenting the main performances and works produced by the Poema/Processo group from the 1967 to 1986. With Gustavo Nóbrega’s organization, the book has historical texts by Frederico Morais, Moacy Cirne, Álvaro de Sá, Neide Sá, Frederico Marcos, Anchieta Fernandes and, most recently, the text of curator and researcher Antonio Sergio Bessa. The organization follows a chronological order and propose that the story is told by the artists themselves and critics of the time, through facts and texts published in the books, magazines, catalogues and newspapers.

On the same day, a performance by the artist Paulo Bruscky will be presented in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the movement. It will also feature the film Apocalipopótese (Guerra e Paz), 1968, by the poet and documentary filmmaker Raymundo Amado, which records one the group’s fist exhibitions, together with performances by Hélio Oiticica, Lygia Pape and Antonio Manuel, at the Arte no Aterro, proposed by the critic Frederico Morais at Aterro do Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro.
